The essentials

  • Danni Chen operates Voca under the dannisoft brand.
  • Adults use and manage the app; children can learn from its printed materials.
  • Scanning and online content require supporting services, and results can contain errors.
  • Apple manages App Store billing. Removing Voca or its account does not cancel a subscription.
  • Only submit material you are entitled to process, without children's identifying details or unrelated private information.
  • Contact support@dannisoft.com for support or account deletion.

1. Operator and agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of Voca and its supporting services. The provider is Danni Chen, based in China, operating asdannisoft ("we", "us", or "our").

By accepting these terms or using Voca after being given an opportunity to read them, you agree to them to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains data processing. Agreeing to these terms is not consent to processing that separately requires consent under applicable law.

2. Adults and children's materials

You must be at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority where you live, and be legally able to enter into this agreement, to use or manage Voca's accounts and online features. Parents, guardians, teachers, and other adults may prepare printed educational materials for children.

Children are not invited to register or use the online service directly. Printed worksheets can be used without an account or device. Do not create accounts in a child's name or upload photos or work containing a child's identifying details. The current app has no age-verification or verified parental-consent system.

If you use Voca for a school or organization, you must be authorized to do so and comply with relevant school, privacy, and copyright rules. Voca is not offered as a school student-record management system.

3. The service and its limitations

Voca helps identify English vocabulary from photos, save words, provide dictionary content and pronunciation, offer practice activities, and create word lists and exercise PDFs. Features, availability, scan allowances, and supported devices depend on the app version and plan described at the time of use or purchase.

Photo scanning uploads images for remote processing. Dictionary requests, generated exercises, purchase verification, and QR pronunciation pages rely on online services. Some locally stored content can be used without a connection, but Voca is not a fully offline service.

OCR and AI-generated definitions, translations, examples, and exercises can be inaccurate or unsuitable. Review results before relying on or giving them to a child or class. Voca does not guarantee that it will identify every unfamiliar word, produce results instantly, improve grades, or achieve a particular learning outcome.

Printed materials offer a way to reduce time spent studying on a screen. Voca is not a medical product and does not promise to prevent eye strain or protect eyesight.

4. Accounts and device data

Guest use creates an anonymous authentication identity. Registered access can use email sign-in or Google where available. Keep sign-in access secure, provide accurate information, and do not use another person's identity or disclose sign-in codes. Contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

The word book and review history are stored locally on the device. The current word book is device-level storage, not a separate cloud-backed collection for each account. Signing out or switching accounts does not erase or automatically isolate that local collection. Use appropriate precautions on shared devices.

Export materials you want to keep before deleting the app or replacing a device. Do not assume that signing in restores a local word book, guest access, or every setting. Device backup and restore behavior is controlled in part by iOS and your backup settings.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Voca may offer free access and paid subscriptions. The purchase screen states the price, billing period, included benefits, limits, and any trial or offer. Do not purchase until you have reviewed those details. We do not guarantee a fixed free allowance or an unadvertised benefit.

For App Store purchases, payment is charged to your Apple account under Apple's purchase terms. Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless you cancel by Apple's applicable deadline. If a trial or introductory offer is available, its renewal conditions and subsequent price are shown before purchase.

Manage or cancel subscriptions throughApple's subscription-management pageor the available Manage Subscription option. Canceling normally stops future renewals rather than automatically refunding the current period, subject to Apple's rules and applicable consumer law. For App Store refunds, useApple's refund-request service.

RevenueCat helps verify purchases and access entitlements. Use the restore-purchases option where available if access is missing, or contact support. Verification can be delayed by network or provider issues.

Deleting Voca, signing out, or deleting a Voca account does not cancel your Apple subscription. Account deletion does not automatically entitle you to a refund or transfer access to another account. Nothing here limits refund, cancellation, or other mandatory consumer rights.

6. Your content and permissions

You retain any rights you have in photos, text, and documents you submit. You grant us the limited permission needed to transmit and process that material, use relevant providers to perform the requested feature, and return results to you. If a feature explicitly stores a document or generates a shareable page, that permission includes storing and serving it for that feature, subject to our Privacy Policy.

This permission does not transfer ownership of your material or authorize us to sell it or train AI models with your scan photos or personal learning records.

Only submit material you own, have permission to process, or may lawfully use under an applicable exception. A photo of a textbook or worksheet does not automatically give you the right to reproduce or distribute it. Avoid personal, confidential, or sensitive information that the feature does not need, especially children's identifying details.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Voca to:

  • Break applicable law, infringe intellectual-property rights, or misuse another person's personal information.
  • Upload unlawful or harmful material, malicious code, or content unrelated to the educational feature you request.
  • Access accounts or data without permission, interfere with the service, or bypass authentication, billing, or usage controls.
  • Abuse automated requests or resell access to the hosted service without authorization.
  • Represent generated results as guaranteed, medically validated, or official assessments when they are not.

Restrictions on reverse engineering or interoperability apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not override rights granted by applicable open-source licenses.

8. Printing and QR links

You may use Voca's printing and PDF features for lawful personal, family, and classroom learning, subject to rights in the underlying material. Actual exercises, formatting, and printer results can vary. Marketing worksheet illustrations are examples, not a guarantee of a particular exported layout.

A QR code on a printed document can link to an online pronunciation page containing selected dictionary words and audio. These links are accessible to anyone who has them; they are not private documents. Internet access is needed to open the page or stream audio. Do not rely on a QR link as permanent storage.

You decide which printer, recipient, or third-party application receives an exported PDF. You are responsible for appropriate sharing and for any printer or network costs.

9. App license and ownership

Voca's software, branding, artwork, and service infrastructure belong to us or their respective licensors. Rights in third-party dictionaries, audio, and other content remain with the relevant rights holders. Except for permitted use of the app and educational outputs, no ownership rights are transferred to you.

For App Store distribution, theApple Standard End User License Agreementapplies unless a separate custom license is supplied through the App Store. These terms describe Voca's service conditions; they are not intended to replace that license or Apple's Usage Rules. Apple is not the operator of Voca's hosted service.

10. Ending use and deletion

You can stop using Voca at any time. To request deletion of an account and associated data under our control, emailsupport@dannisoft.comwith the subject "Voca account deletion". We verify requests and handle them as described in the Privacy Policy. The current in-app deletion control does not complete deletion.

Deletion may remove access to account-based features. Cancel any unwanted Apple subscription separately. Local storage, copies in device backups, exported PDFs, and printed materials need separate handling; signing out is not deletion.

We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, fraud, security risks, or legal requirements. Where appropriate and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Contact support if you believe a restriction was made in error.

We may change or discontinue features, but will respect existing purchase commitments and applicable law. If a material change affects a paid service, we will provide appropriate notice and any remedy required by law. These terms do not authorize charging for a service we no longer provide without addressing your rights.

11. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Voca is provided on an "as available" basis without a promise of uninterrupted service, error-free results, or suitability for every educational purpose. You should verify important results and maintain copies of materials you need. This does not exclude statutory guarantees or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. This limitation does not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot be limited or excluded, including applicable mandatory consumer rights. We do not claim that every outage, data loss, or third-party failure excuses our legal obligations.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, subject to mandatory consumer and other protections applicable where you live. This clause does not remove rights to bring a claim in a court or forum available to you under mandatory law.

Please contact support@dannisoft.comfirst so we can try to resolve a concern. If it cannot be resolved, a dispute may be brought before a court or authority with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not require private arbitration or waive class or collective remedies where they are available by law.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or law. We will update the date above and give appropriate notice of material changes. Where required, we will obtain agreement before applying new terms. Changes do not retroactively remove rights that have already arisen or mandatory consumer protections.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a term once does not automatically waive it in future.
